The jackpot for Monday's Powerball drawing skyrockets to $391,000,000

The grand prize for Monday Powerball game climbed to $391,000,000 (cash value $$185.6 million) after nobody matched all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number Saturday night. The numbers from Saturday night, February 24th, 2024 were 03, 08, 40, 53, 58 and Powerball was 03. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for 23 draws since Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a 810,000,000 top prize.
Although there was no grand prize winner Saturday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. A total of 23 lucky players won the 3rd prize. There were 3 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
Other prizes won Saturday night included 347 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 122 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash! Additional prizes won Saturday night included 975 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $100. 322 additional tickets at this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
With nine prize tiers, the Saturday night's drawing generated 782,327 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the winnings except grand prize. The overall odds of winning are about 1 to 32. The odds of matching all six Powerball numbers are about 1 in 175 million. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
