Powerball jackpot breaks to $685,000,000 Wednesday night; Five second prize tickets sold

There were no Powerball lottery grand prize winners for Monday's $638,000,000 dollar drawing, so the jackpot will leap to an estimated $685,000,000 with the lump-sum cash payout at a projected $$344.7 million Wednesday, December 27th, 2023. The winning numbers from Monday, December 25th, 2023 drawing were 05, 12, 20, 24, 29 and Powerball was 04.

Though the grand prize was not awarded Monday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There were five lucky tickets matched all five numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The three second prize winning ticket(s) sold in California(1), New Hampshire(1) and Pennsylvania(1) will collect 1 million dollar cash. The other two second prize winner(s) from Colorado(1) and Georgia(1) also purchased Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!

Also, 45 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. There were 16 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!

With 9 different ways to win, the Monday night's drawing created 1,046,131 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.

America's favorite Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Powerball game uses a 5/59 (white balls) + 1/35 (Powerballs) matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2.
