The projected jackpot for Wednesday night's drawing was 63,000,000. According to Powerball, nobody matched every number and the jackpot went to a projected 78,000,000. The cash option stands at an estimated $41.1 million. The winning numbers from Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 drawing were 16-18-33-37-50 and Powerball number was 08.
While the grand prize was not awarded Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There were a total of 7 3rd prize lucky winning tickets with or without Power Play option. These included 7 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000.
Also, 158 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 62 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the winnings to a total win of $200 each! There were 423 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 147 additional players not only matched 3+1, and also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the winnings to $200 cash each ticket.
With nine ways to win, the Wednesday night's drawing produced 332,555 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
America's favorite Powerball can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Power Play, which multiplies the original winnings but not jackpot. The overall odds of winning are about 1 to 32. The chances of matching all six Powerball numbers are 1 to 175,223,510. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments in 29 years.
