The Powerball grand prize has jumped up to an estimated 473,000,000 (cash value $255.7 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Saturday night. The jackpot amount has been rolled over since no player hit all five white ball numbers and the Powerball number to take the 439,000,000 jackpot Wednesday night. The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night, January 18th, 2023 were 06, 15, 22, 42, 47 with Power Ball number 26.
While there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with huge pile of cash. 22 third prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. These included 19 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000.
Other prizes won Wednesday night included 428 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 139 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! There were 1005 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and also won $100. 289 additional players not only matched 3+1, but also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
With nine prize levels, there were a total of 744,805 tickets across U.S. won $0 prizes in the Wednesday, January 18th, 2023 drawing.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Powerball game uses a 5/59+1/35 matrix to randomly pick winning numbers. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the prizes except grand prize. The minimum Powerball jackpot is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners can select one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
