Mega Millions jackpot builds to $185,000,000; One second prize ticket sold

The Mega Millions multi-state lottery grand prize increased to $185,000,000 (cash value $$88.4 million) Friday night when there were no top prize winners in the $169,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The numbers drawn Tuesday night, October 15th, 2024 were 22-34-44-54-62 with Mega Ball number 03 and Megaplier X3.

While the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a sole lucky ticket matched the first 5 white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) sold in MD won $250,000 cash each.

Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 13 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 226 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $150. Other prizes won included 623 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $150.

With 9 different prize tiers, there were a total of 980,128 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. It holds the record largest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, pick 5 numbers from a set of 75 then select a Mega Ball number from a set of 15. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot.
