The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions drawing rised to $150,000,000 for the Friday drawing. The cash option stands at an estimated $$71.5 million. None of the tickets sold for Tuesday's $129,000,000 drawing matched five lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night, October 8th, 2024 were 03, 19, 20, 22, 66 and the Mega Ball was 09, Megaplier was 3.

Even though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There was a sole lucky ticket matched the first five white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The one lucky ticket(s) bought in CA, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.

Other prizes won Tuesday night included 11 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 292 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $150. There were 762 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $150.

With 9 prize tiers, there were a total of 996,484 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions is played in 43 states and Washington DC. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players in prizes. Roughly 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play, pick 5 numbers from a set of 75 and pick a Mega Ball number from 1 to 15. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 12 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual installments. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
