Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot builds to $93 million; One second prize ticket sold

There were no Mega Millions lottery jackpot winners for Friday's $79 million dollar drawing, so the grand prize will increase to an estimated $93 million with the cash value at $62.7 million Tuesday, March 16th, 2021. The winning numbers drawn Friday night, March 12th, 2021 were 02, 24, 25, 31, 65 with Mega Ball number 18 and Megaplier 0.

While there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single lucky player that matched all five numbers and won the second prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) sold in will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.

In addition, 15 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Friday evening included 265 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $150. Other prizes won included 777 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $150.

With nine different prize tiers, there were a total of 1,057,092 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, March 12th, 2021 drawing.

Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and D.C. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play, choose 5 numbers from a set of 75 then choose a Mega Ball number from a set of 15. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The chances of winning are about 1 to 14. The chances of winning Mega Millions jackpot are about 1 in 258 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $12,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 26 equal yearly installments. Winners can choose one lump-sum cash payout instead.
