Mega Millions jackpot moves to $61 million; 2 tickets matched the first five numbers

The cash option stands at $42.7 million. Mega Millions' grand prize increased because nobody matched all six winning numbers drawn Friday night. The numbers drawn Friday night, June 25th, 2021 were 17, 20, 42, 45, 65 with Mega Ball 12 and Megaplier X4. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 802 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.A single lucky winner from Maryland walked away with $189 million top prize in Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 drawing.

Though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with huge prizes. There were 2 lucky winners matched all five white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 2 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in won a quarter million dollar cash each.

Also, 19 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Friday evening included 230 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $150. 592 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $150.

With nine different ways to win, there were a total of 927,850 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, June 25th, 2021 drawing.

Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game can be played in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prizes. Approximately 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from a set of 75 and pick one Mega Ball number from a set of 15. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $12 million. The annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual payments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
