Friday's Mega Millions jackpot goes to $333,000,000; 1 ticket won the second prize

There were no Mega Millions lottery jackpot winners for Tuesday's $311,000,000 dollar drawing, so the jackpot will increase to a projected $333,000,000 with the lump-sum cash payout of a projected $$160.1 million Friday, February 2nd, 2024. The winning numbers from Tuesday, January 30th, 2024 drawing were 03-05-16-58-59 and the Mega Ball was 11, Megaplier was 4. The Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling over for 15 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023. The last jackpot was won by 2 tickets sold in CA(2), matched all six numbers and shared a $395 million top prize.

Even though the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single second prize winner from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching all five white ball numbers except the Mega Ball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in PA will collect $250,000 cash each.

Other major winners Tuesday night included 16 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 331 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $150. Other prizes won included 989 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $150.

With nine different prize tiers, there were a total of 1,478,980 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, January 30th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and D.C. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prizes. Around 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $12 million. Its annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual payments. Winners can select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
