Tuesday's Mega Millions game jackpot climbed to $208,000,000, since no one matched all five white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number drawn Friday night. The cash value for Tuesday will be an estimated $$101.5 million up for grab. Friday's $187,000,000 is the total payout - before taxes - if the prize is taken in annual installments. The numbers from Friday, January 12th, 2024 drawing were 19-34-35-45-67 with Mega Ball number 07 and Megaplier x3. The Mega Millions grand prize has been rolling over for 10 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023. 2 lucky players from CA(2) won the jackpot in Friday, December 8th, 2023 drawing and split $395 million.

Even though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. A total of 9 lucky winners won the 3rd prize. These included 9 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Also, 284 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $150. Other prizes won included 778 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $150.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prizes. Around 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Roughly 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating states. To play Mega Millions, select 5 numbers from a set of 75 and pick a Mega Ball number from a set of 15. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $12,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual payments. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
