The Mega Millions game grand prize is on the move again. The jackpot for the Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 drawing builds to $435,000,000 with the lump-sum cash payout at an estimated $$212.4 million. The winning numbers from Friday night, August 9th, 2024 were 12, 32, 38, 40, 57 with Mega Ball 21 and Megaplier X2. No one won the Mega Millions jackpot in the past nineteen draws since Friday, June 7th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $560 million top prize.

Though the jackpot was not hit Friday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There were two tickets that matched all 5 lotto numbers and won the second prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in OR,TN won a quarter million dollar cash each.

Additional prizes won Friday night included 17 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. In addition, 360 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $150. Other prizes won included 890 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $150.

With nine different prize tiers, there were a total of 1,510,878 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, August 9th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prizes. Roughly 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating states. To play, choose 5 numbers from a set of 75 then choose 1 Mega Ball number from 1 to 15. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is $12,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual payments. Winners may select one time lump-sum cash payout instead.
