Friday's Mega Millions jackpot climbs to 476,000,000; Two second prize tickets sold

There has been another rollover in the grand prize for the multistate Mega Millions - to 476,000,000. The lump-sum cash payout will be $256 million up for grab. The jackpot grew since no one matched all 6 numbers from Tuesday night's 441,000,000 drawing. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night, April 11th, 2023 were 31-35-53-54-55 and the Mega Ball was 24, Megaplier was 3. No one won the Mega Millions grand prize in the past 994 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.

Although there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There were two lucky winners correctly matched all five white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in AZ,CA won a quarter million dollar cash each.

Other major winners Tuesday night included 13 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 483 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $150. 1079 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $150.

With nine different prize levels, there were 1,797,632 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, April 11th, 2023 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prize winnings. Roughly 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the prizes 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $12 million. Its annuity option is paid in 26 equal annual payments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout instead.
