Saturday's Powerball jackpot climbs to $60 million; One second prize ticket sold

The jackpot in the Powerball multistate lottery game continues going up and will be up to $60 million for the upcoming drawing on Saturday. The cash value will be a projected $42.9 million. The amount was rolled over since no player matched all five lotto numbers and the Powerball number to win the $50 million grand prize Wednesday night. The winning numbers from Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 drawing were 23, 30, 35, 41, 57 with Power Ball number 02.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was only one ticket that correctly matched all five lotto numbers and won the 2nd prize. The 1 second prize ticket(s) from New York matched all 5 white ball numbers and also chose Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!
Additional prizes won Wednesday evening included 9 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 2 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
With 9 prize tiers, there were a total of 424,388 tickets nationwide won $0 prizes in the Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 drawing.
America's favorite Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. To play, select 5 numbers from 1 to 59 and choose one Powerball number from 1 to 35. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies the original winnings but not jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments in 29 years. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
