The multi-state Powerball jackpot has rised to an estimated 158,000,000 dollars after there was no grand prize winner in Saturday's drawing. The cash value will be a projected $85 million. The numbers drawn Saturday night, December 17th, 2022 were 33-56-64-66-68 and Powerball number was 12.
Although there was no grand prize winner Saturday evening, Powerball had some big winners. 15 3rd prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. 4 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
In addition, 248 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 79 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Additional prizes won Saturday evening included 626 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $100. 208 additional tickets of this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
With nine different prize levels, the Saturday night's drawing created 545,484 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
America's favorite Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Powerball uses a 5/59 (white balls) + 1/35 (Powerballs) system from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies the winnings but not jackpot. The overall odds of winning are about 1 to 32. The chances of winning Powerball jackpot are 1 to 175,223,510. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
